The Black Cat Farm Internship Program provides the unique opportunity to learn by working on an organic farm and in a dynamic restaurant at the same time.

Our goal at the Black Cat is to create a
working relationship between the farm
and restaurant, where the menu
changes daily based on what was picked
at the farm that day.

Interns wil ltend to animals and livestock, set up irrigation, build greenhouses, plant, cultivate, harvesting, prep for
market and the restaurant and also
work with the produce in the
restaurant’s kitchen.  Interns will
contribute at each step to the produce’s
life from building the soil to the finishing
touches in the kitchen.

The day begins in the field working to
nurture great produce.  In the
afternoon, the day’s harvest is
organized and brought to the
restaurant.  Then the interns follow
the produce into the restaurant and
learn how it is prepared and cooked.
During the season, the hours are long
and tiring.  Interns are in the fields in all
types of weather.  Individuals must be
motivated to learn through work, to be
inquisitive, do independent research
and study, have a great attitude, be
reliable and have great communication
skills.

We are looking for motivated persons with
basic knowledge of farming and gardening,
organic growing practices and a desire to
learn by working.
